Moondream Soundproof Curtain

The Moondream Soundproof Curtain uses our own patented technology (U.S. Patent N° 9475260) with 3 layers of strategically assembled materials to obtain the best results in sound insulation that can be achieved with a fabric curtain. Our product has been tested by independant laboratories to confirm its perfomance.

  • Sound insulation: Noise reduced by four-fold, reaching a drop of up to 7 decibels (1). Reverberation of sound in the room reduced for a quieter atmosphere, e.g. for a surface area of approximately 215 ft² the reverberation time is reduced by 0.4 seconds (2).
  • Thermal insulation: Up to 37% reduction of heating costs in winter (3) and a drop in temperature during summer (4). 
  • Light insulation: 100% blackout effect for improved sleep quality.

I placed these curtains in front of a large glass window in order to improve the acoustics in a room with a large grand piano. The curtains serve this purpose very well. The curtains are well-made and attractive.

Definitely muffles traffic noise (street is 50 feet from window). Only bought 2 - 57 panels - I should buy 2 more for the baffle effect which probably would reduce noise even more. Or get landlord to put insulation in the walls! Very nice looking.

No soundproof functionality at all! eggshell color is way too yellow. Don’t buy this here. Pay attention to the return policy, not convenient comparing with other stores.

Hello We are sorry to hear you don't find any improvement with our curtains. Nevertheless, it is necessary to consider the individual configuration of one's home regarding the efficiency of our product. Depending of the construction of the building or the house, the sound enters through the walls too.. Once in, the noise creates what's called a "rebound effect" - bouncing multiple times off the wall, the floor, the ceiling. Therefore, insulating the windows alone might not be sufficient in your specific case to achieve a satisfactory result and additional insulation measures might be necessary. Regarding the thickness of the curtain: our curtains are all made with 3 fabric layers and are therefore quite thick. That being said, it is the weight of the curtain that is even more important than the thickness when it comes to sound insulation. As you may have noticed, the curtain is very heavy (all our curtains weigh between 4 and 7 lbs depending on the length). To improve the effiency of the curtains, we suggest you to use double-sided tape to seal curtain edges to wall as it will help to reduce sound migration all around as well as the amount of sound "rebounding". Our curtains muffle the sounds and create a quieter environment. Our soundproof curtains have all been tested by independant laboratories and are patented in the US. These did exactly as advertised. I got two of these for our room that's closest to a busy main road, and not only do they keep all the draft out of the room from the old windows, but they truly lowered the sound pollution in our room by 7 decibels. We used a meter to check. These have been a godsend. We can use our room without high pitched and high spiking sounds disturbing us anymore. The roadnoise isn't truly cancelled out, but that's not the reason we got these. They muffle the sound so well and keep the heat IN our room. After months of looking for a solution, I'm pleased to say these did exactly what we were hoping for and more. Thank you, Moondream!

The curtains certainly lowers the noise level by way of reducing the noise level but more importantly softening and muffling the sharp noises of the subway trains. Reduces to the level of where the noise is not a bothersome during the sleep.

These drapes are beautiful, in how they hang as well as frame the window. They are very effective in blocking light and sound. I live on a noisy street and with the drapes closed I wouldn't know it

These curtains work! We live on what I call the loudest corner of NYC and have every noise you could dream of: loud people, loud sirens, loud horns, lots of traffic. Before Moondream, I was startled awake virtually every night from the noise. Since we installed the curtains, I have slept GREAT! I was very skeptical but they really do significantly reduce the noise. To put it in specific terms: if I'm awake, I still hear the ambulance sirens outside my window, but they do NOT wake me up anymore. The noise on the street from traffic/people I don't hear at all. And the light blocking is fantastic. We ordered another set for another room. They are perfect!!

I bought these curtains because we live near a freeway. I only bought two since I wasn't sure they would work but when I put them up, the difference was REMARKABLE. I've since bought 4 more.

If blocking out light and heat were my reasons for buying, I would rate much higher. I bought these for traffic noise cancellation (and not very heavy traffic), and quite frankly I cannot even hear the difference.

I love the curtains. They look great. They were easy to install. They do have an unusual hem - the white part is not the same length as the beige part and the seam exposed. That is not a big deal to me though because the curtain fabric and construction otherwise is excellent - in my opinion.

I purchased the soundproof blinds in hopes to reduce the the noise of the train whistle in the distance, birds chirping in the backyard xcetera. I did not see any difference. So, to me it was not worth the money. The only positive thing about the curtains were that they are thick enough to block out most of the natural light coming in.

ART STUDIO. These soundproof curtains are beautiful, almost too classy for our sloppy paint and sip art studio! They do exactly what we wanted them to do, muffle the sound between the 3 studios we have. We hung them right from the package without even a slight wrinkle, how is that even possible? They have a smooth clean classy finish and look great! I just ordered 2 more soundproof curtains for the walkways between rooms.
