This is the third set of drapes that I have purchased. I love how easy it is to open and close the drapes using the metal grommets. The drapes have a high quality look and feel. I think they do a good job of blocking out sunlight and heat. Would highly recommend them!

The curtain color was accurately represented on the website. I'm very happy with my purchase. It looks like it should last a long time and do a good job insulating the heat in summer and the cold in winter.

Great curtain for our toddler's room. The sun blasts his room in the morning and this takes off some heat as well as doing a great job of blocking out light. I add a light blanket on top of the rod itself when the curtains are closed to block out light that escapes above the curtain rod, so you will have to account for that if you need complete darkness. A rod much closer to the wall than mine would probably solve that issue as well. Very happy with the product.

The curtain works just as we had hoped and the color matches the colors in our kitchen as we'd hoped.

They look great from inside but the thermal backing looks wrinkled and clings to the curtain and doesn't hang straight when seen from outside the house.

  • 1st OPTION - THIS OPTION DOES NOT EXIST FOR THE PENCIL PLEAT CURTAINS ON SALE:
If the curtain has an opening on both ends, than you may use a standard curtain rod, and insert the rod into one end, therefore using it as a “Rod-Pocket” curtain.

    Step 1 iron-on-tape Step 2 iron-on-tape

    Step 1 iron-on-tape Step 2 iron-on-tape

  • 2nd OPTION:

  • With a traverse rod: Insert the provided plastic hooks inside the braid every 3.4 or 6 inches on the back of your curtain. To pleat and frown your curtain pull the strings on both sides. Your curtain is ready to be hung into the hooks of your traverse rod.

The measurements vary slightly depending on the type of curtains to be hung.

Choosing curtain height

The height of your curtains is the distance measured from the top of the curtain rail to the floor.
If you prefer curtains that do not touch the floor, reduce the measured height by 0.8 in (2 cm).
For a more decorative aspect with curtains that fall to the floor, add 1.6 to 2 in (4 to 5 cm) to the measured
height. Curtains that "break" at the floor accentuate the ceiling height in the room.
Whatever you choose, all Moondream curtains are delivered with a heat-activated adhesive band so that you can
adapt your curtains to the height you wish.
We recommend that you hang your curtains to measure where to place the hem.

Special case of grommet curtains
Plan to leave 1 in (2.5 cm) between the top of the curtain rail and your ceiling.
This space will be taken up by the material above the grommets.

Choosing curtain width

Measure the distance between one end of the rail and the other (not including decorative tips).
Remember that the stated dimensions always correspond to the flat curtains.
When taking the measurements, take the specific type of curtain attachment system into account.

  • For curtains with pencil pleats
For a highly pleated effect, multiply the measurement by 1.5.
Moondream curtains are sewn with 2.8 in (7 cm) wide pencil pleats.
Once hung, you simply need to pull on the strings at each end of the pencil pleats to create the desired pleat.

  • For grommet curtains
Moondream curtains are made with 8 grommets and the top of the curtains is reinforced and blind hem stitched,
which means that they fall elegantly to the floor to add just the right touch to any interior.
The diameter of the grommets is 1.6 in (4 cm).
When the curtains are folded back, the width of the panel is approximately 5.9 in (15 cm).

How to measure my curtains

How to hem my Moondream curtains?

It is so easy to hem your curtain without sewing!

All our Moondream® curtains are delivered with a iron-on-tape enabling you to adjust the dimensions of your curtains to fit your windows.

N.B.: Given the weight of the sound insulation curtain (up to 6.61 pounds), we recommend adding a few stitches post-application to secure the iron-on-tape in place.

APPLICATION

  1. Measure how long you want your curtains to be and lay the curtain with the reverse side facing upwards.
Fold up the hem and iron the fold (without the iron-on-tape).
  2. Place the iron-on-tape inside the fold.
  3. Iron with a pressing action.
The curtain is ready to be install!
