Moondream Soundproof Curtain

The Moondream Soundproof Curtain uses our own patented technology (U.S. Patent N° 9475260) with 3 layers of strategically assembled materials to obtain the best results in sound insulation that can be achieved with a fabric curtain. Our product has been tested by independant laboratories to confirm its perfomance.

Sound insulation: Noise reduced by four-fold, reaching a drop of up to 7 decibels (1). Reverberation of sound in the room reduced for a quieter atmosphere, e.g. for a surface area of approximately 215 ft² the reverberation time is reduced by 0.4 seconds (2).
Thermal insulation: Up to 37% reduction of heating costs in winter (3) and a drop in temperature during summer (4).
Light insulation: 100% blackout effect for improved sleep quality.

I went with the pleated version and used the provided plastic hooks to hang from cast iron rings and all that worked great and was easy to install. I used seven hooks per curtain. The curtains are nicely made and have a nice heft.That said, I am not sure how much soundproofing they provide... perhaps a little, but nothing dramatic. They do block out the light, and my guess is because of their three layers, they do provide some insulation from heat escaping and cold entering. I already have insulated glass with 1/4" thick outside glass and 1/8" inside separated by 1/4 argon gas. The glazing blocks most of the noise, so I am not dependent on the curtains to block the noise which is a distant whirr of a freeway depending on the weather. Overall, I think the curtains are a good product.

I thought the curtain would provide soundproofing between my yoga room and the living room but with the curtains closed I can still hear what's going on in the living room. sigh Still, I do have privacy and that's a good thing!

I was expecting a miracle lol However, the quality is good. I guess in order to get the black out, I need to get blinds. For the proof-sound, I don't know! The fabric is good quality.
