Moondream Soundproof Curtain

The Moondream Soundproof Curtain uses our own patented technology (U.S. Patent N° 9475260) with 3 layers of strategically assembled materials to obtain the best results in sound insulation that can be achieved with a fabric curtain. Our product has been tested by independant laboratories to confirm its perfomance.

Sound insulation: Noise reduced by four-fold, reaching a drop of up to 7 decibels (1). Reverberation of sound in the room reduced for a quieter atmosphere, e.g. for a surface area of approximately 215 ft² the reverberation time is reduced by 0.4 seconds (2).
Thermal insulation: Up to 37% reduction of heating costs in winter (3) and a drop in temperature during summer (4).
Light insulation: 100% blackout effect for improved sleep quality.

We have a basement without carpet, and its just loud. We enjoy having friends over but the kids upstairs would wake up just from us talking or playing pool. I placed this curtain right in front of the door going into the basement (at the top of the stairs) and it made a dramatic difference. I don't have any special noise testing equipment, but my wife couldn't hear Alexa going at full blast until she was right on the basement door and the other side of the curtain...so i give it a thumbs up!

Does not sound like - 9 Db. More like -3 Db. None the less there's a sense of separation when curtain is up and some sound proofing.

Hello, Thank you for your comments. As explained in the soundproof buying guide the results are UP TO, depending of the frequency of the sound. There are different types of noises with either high, medium or low frequencies. Different applications and treatments are needed to confront this spectrum of noises and there is no one-for-all solution Each sound environment is different and the intricacies of one's home have to be taken into account, because the noise does not come in simply from your windows but also seeps in through the walls and various openings. Have to order it with realistic expectations. Its not sound"proof" but it does a pretty great job at blocking the sound. It is also a really nice color.

Prompt shipping and the curtains did help knock some of the noise down. We have a major highway about 50 feet from our bedroom window and it was impossible to sleep before. We can still hear the road noise, nothing is going to completely eliminate that but now it's more like a white noise level. Very pleased.

The curtains are a nice color and texture. They keep out a significant portion of light. There are many factors involved in noise being heard from outside, so unless you address all factors, no room will truly be outside noise-proof; but, the curtains do dampen the noise from outside, without taking any other steps to eliminate the other factors.
