The Moondream Velvet Soundproof Curtain uses an innovative technology with 4 layers of strategically assembled materials to obtain the best results in sound insulation that can be achieved with a fabric curtain. Our product has been tested by independant laboratories to confirm its perfomance.

Sound insulation: Noise reduced, reaching a drop of up to 12 decibels (1). Reverberation of sound in the room reduced for a quieter atmosphere.

DESIGN FEATURES: White lining on the backside. Heavy fabric for a lovely hanging effect with small discreet stitching to appear seamless. For a perfect finish, the bottom hem is already sewn (no fusion tape).

We needed to cover several double pane windows of widely varying sizes with additional sound-blocking material (the alternative would have been window frame inserts). These curtains not only did the job (guessing at least an additional 10 dB) but are beautiful and elegant. Didn't need the blackout feature but they clearly would work for that.

This item met all of my expectations. My wife and I ordered two of these curtains to dampen the sound coming from my office when I practice my trombone. While these curtains couldn't possibly stop ALL sound from coming from that room, they do make having a conversation in the adjacent room possible, even with a loud musical instrument playing.

Nice material but it doesn’t block much sound. Maybe better if we use 2 instead of 1

My husband likes tech gadgets, so we actually own a decibel meter. Before curtains, the typical sound of rush hour traffic in our bedroom was about 36-38 decibels with occasional drag racing muscle cars that are much louder. We put our curtains up, closed them carefully and took another reading: 30-32. (Remember that decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale. Each additional decibel is 10 times louder than the one before). Ahhhh... So much better. If we get around to adding some blown-in insulation, I'm sure that will make it quieter still, but this was a great way to take the edge off the noise without a lot of work or expense. And these really are blackout curtains. Cutting off the light from the street and our neighbor's security lights is helping our sleep too. Can't wait to see how they help our heating and AC bills! I definitely recommend these curtains. They aren't magic, but they will help your sleep if you live in a busy area, and hopefully your utility bills too!

Provides no measurable sound difference in either subjective or objective testing (decibel meter). Literally just heavy curtains being marketed as sound reducing. Incredibly innacurate marketing.

The noise is a complicated matter and the result depends also of the construction of the building or house, and the frequency of the noise you're experiencing .
