Moondream Soundproof Curtain

The Moondream Soundproof Curtain uses our own patented technology (U.S. Patent N° 9475260) with 3 layers of strategically assembled materials to obtain the best results in sound insulation that can be achieved with a fabric curtain. Our product has been tested by independant laboratories to confirm its perfomance.

  • Sound insulation: Noise reduced by four-fold, reaching a drop of up to 7 decibels (1). Reverberation of sound in the room reduced for a quieter atmosphere, e.g. for a surface area of approximately 215 ft² the reverberation time is reduced by 0.4 seconds (2).
  • Thermal insulation: Up to 37% reduction of heating costs in winter (3) and a drop in temperature during summer (4). 
  • Light insulation: 100% blackout effect for improved sleep quality.

I'm totally happy with these curtains, they do what they were designed to do. I live in San Francisco where the streets are always packed with people and street noise. With these curtains my apartment is noticeably much quieter. My home life is much better now!

Noise level has definitely been lowered, but as is listed in the product information, it will not eliminate it. Information was honest and correct. Am happy with drapes and color is rich and beautiful!

These curtains look great, very well made and have an upscale look to them. The curtains are very thick and provide almost 100% room darkening. I live about 250 ft from an major interstate highway and was looking for a product that helped with the noise. Because I live so close to the highway, there is no way of completely blocking out the sound, but these curtains have drastically dampened the noise. I have another brand of soundproof/room darkening curtains on the main level of the house and the Moondream curtains definitely rate much higher in quality and effectiveness.

I bought two of these soundproof cotton curtains (MC330) about three years ago to dampen the apartment complex air conditioners right outside my bedroom window. I just added another curtain, same color (Garnett)/size to dampen sound reflection in my music room. Works perfectly. Highly recommend curtain for this purpose. It kind of looks like the heavy red curtains you see in theaters.

I bought this panel to block a window out from folks peering in and to absorb sound from my studio blaring out. The material is nice and thick and of a really good quality. The color was just as advertised and I am completely happy with this purchase.

After reading other buyers' reviews, where I learned that Moondream curtains would not block 100% of road noise, I bought a pair of them anyway. I couldn't be happier! No, they do not block 100% of all road noise. When a motorcycle or a large truck is passing by at night, I might hear it if I'm still awake. The noise reduction is noticeable, though, and normal light car/truck traffic is quite a bit less intrusive. I've used a fan as a white noise machine for a number of years, and between Moondream curtains and my fan, I am good to sleep through the night. Before I bought these curtains, I bought a pair from another retailer online. They were pictured as a dark maroon red, but when they arrived, they were a bright red. When I ordered the dark red curtains from Moondream, they were exactly as pictured on the website.

We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with our curtains. Now please allow us to give you some additional information about how exactly our soundproof curtains work. Our curtains are engineered to block external sounds and noise. This is why - as you may have noticed - they are heavy and made up of multiple layers. Even if you do not notice a complete shutdown of noise levels, the sound is more distant and less aggressive to the ear. Now, each sound environment is different and the intricacies of one's home have to be taken into account. Once in, the noise creates what's called a "rebound effect" - bouncing multiple times on the wall, the floor, the ceiling .As you can imagine, that's not possible to stop with only some curtains but only with multiple applications. Regarding the curtains, we suggest you to use double-sided tape to seal curtain edges to wall for improved results. It will help to reduce sound migration around and the amount of sound "rebounding" But keep in mind that, in order to achieve effective soundproofing, your room has to be covered also with absorbent materials. We confirm that our products are patented in the USA and have been tested in certified laboratories.

Way better then I thought it would be. An interstate is behind the trees to my southwest. I do not have a noise problem unless the wind is from that direction.reduced that noise by 75 to 80 per cent. Excellent product.

These are fantastic curtains which not only shut out light but dampen sound a lot. I live in a condo complex where there is lots of exterior noise and since I sleep swing shift hours it helps me a lot. They are made very strong so I am sure will last a long time.

Very pleased !. Dear Moondream, I wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with the curtains I purchased. I got multiple sets of the Blackout, Soundproof, Thermal curtains. The curtains survived the shipping, but the boxes were totally trashed by the time I received them. Happily the curtains were undamaged and I noticed a great improvement in my house. The noise my neighbor's vehicles make was reduced, the rooms were darker, and I'm expecting the house to be much warmer once cold weather hits. I live in northern Montana so any energy savings in the winter will be greatly welcomed. I like how the curtain material is thick and hefty...(I'll have to get sturdier curtain rods however). I just purchased my house and it had flimsy curtain rods...not up to the quality of your curtains. Thanks so much for a great product. I do plan on buying more once the color I'd like to get becomes available. Thanks again Jack A-(Montana)
